Most small business owners don’t need a 40-page strategy document. You need a simple plan you can actually use. Here’s how to create a 1-page marketing plan in 30 minutes.
Step 1: Define Your Goal (5 minutes)
What do you want your marketing to achieve in the next 3-6 months?
Be specific: e.g. “Get 20 new customers,” or “Increase bookings by 30%.”
Step 2: Know Your Audience (5 minutes)
Who is your ideal customer?
Write down 3 things about them: What problem do they want solved? Where do they spend time (online/offline)? Why would they choose you?
Step 3: Pick Your Channels (5 minutes)
Don’t try to be everywhere. Pick 2-3 places where your customers are most active.
Example: Facebook + Email + Local networking.
Step 4: Create Your Message (10 minutes)
Answer this in one sentence:
Why should a customer choose you instead of someone else?
Now draft 2-3 simple messages you can use again and again in posts, emails, or conversations.
Step 5: Plan Your Actions (5 minutes)
List 3-5 activities you’ll do every week.
Examples:
Post on social media twice
Email past customers once
Attend one networking event
Run one special offer
✅ That’s it - your 1-page plan. Keep it visible. Stick to it. Review every month. Download this guide below.
